Daily Japanese #9

The word today is a the prepositional phrase あそこ(asoko).

あそこ translates to over there

There is no kanji for this one, this is used to describe where an item is or where you maybe be looking, similar to how we would use it in English. Used when something is physically distant from yourself and the speaker or vice versa.

Oh no, I left my phone on the counter over there, and now it is gone!

arayaba ketaidenwa wa asoko ni imashita dakedo ima inaidesu!

あらやばけたいでんわはあそこカウンターにいましただけどいまいないです!
