Coppelion Episode 3

Same as last episodes. Nothing really stands out, just throwing new characters with a little bit of backstory and revealing the conflict a bit more.

It’s revealed that most of the inhabitants of Old Tokyo have left and that contamination is actually getting worse. Other than that, we don’t really see much. Professor Denjiro is apparently a scientist that built the failed nuclear reactor which led to the nuclear fallout. We get a little bit of, “heart tugging,” monologuing over some guilt while Ibara shares a few words about being a puppet that add a bit of false motivation. These episodes are slow paced and the characters aren’t really sticking out to me. I know there will be some more twists in the upcoming episodes but the introduction to the series is feeling bland.

I can’t comment on the color and scenic style anymore since it is the same with every episode.

Predictions for next week:

I’m guessing, based on the pacing, that we’re going to see more backstory behind our main girls. The preview shows Professor Denjiro so we might get some revelation to his importance with the Coppelion girls. Someday, we’re gonna get some crazy plot twist and the story is gonna spiral out of control… I hope.
